A SCREENPLAY Last Update April 20, 2001. Hello visitors, even if this is NEVER the version of SW2 that you will see on the movie, it is a version that tells you how the plot goes. And this is NOT actually the Screenplay they used for filming. Its just a treatment written before the movie was released. 1A SPACE TITLE CARD:A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY… A vast sea of stars provide the backdrop for the MAIN TITLE followed by ROLL UP that crawls into infinity. There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several hundred solar sytems under the leadership of the rebel leader Count Dooku, have declared their intentions to secede from the Republic. The separatist movement has made it difficult for the limited number of Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy. Senator Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, is returning to Coruscant to vote on the critical issue of creating an army to assist the overwhelmed Jedi… 2A EXT SPACE CORUSCANT ORBIT A Royal Starship that is accompanied by N1 Naboo Starfighters is entering the planet Coruscant. The engines of the Yellow Starfighters are very loud and even somebody in the cockpit of any of the ships can hear it. Or it can be the compressed sound of more than one ship entering the orbit. 3A EXT CORUSCANT LANDING RAMP. Senator Padme Amidala is getting out of the landing ramp. One man ahead of him is Captain Typho, the replacement of Captain Panaka and a serious-looking Astromech Droid Artoo Detoo. TYPHO Oh, man it is cold. ARTOO Beep. TYPHO Are you alright? The hand of Typho wearing gray gloves almost put a finger on the trigger. 4A INT ROYAL STARSHIP COCKPIT WE SEE The N-1 fighters landing thru the window of the Cockpit. PILOT (On Radio Comm) Over! TYPHO Im here, were all ready!. 5A EXT CORUSCANT LANDING STATION Then Typho dropped his radio when he heard a VERY loud explosion. The Royal Nubian Cruiser exploded and the smoke almost made Typho blind. Artoo fell down BEEP. Then a girl about 25 years old got out of one of the N-1 vehicles and came to Senator Padme-------It was NOT Padme on the ship, it WAS Corde, Senator Padmes decoy and bodyguard. Then the REAL Senator Padme went close and the handmaiden died on her hands, the place was still smoking. Two more N-1 pilots went down the ladders of their yellow vehicles. TYPHO Damn it! There are terrorists in there! Every body down! TYPHO Senator! PADME What? TYPHO Go to the chamber now! At least there are NO terrorists in there, go!!!!! ARTOO Beep. 6A GALACTIC SENATE CHAMBER Uv Gizen is together with Chancellor Palpatine while Gungan Representative Jar Jar Binks is waiting seriously on a Senate Platform for his Senator to arrive. PALPATINE Let me announce to you the tragic and disturbing news that one of the Senators that I represent---The Naboo System. Senator Amidala has been assassinated by a terrorist bomb today. BAIL ORGANA Terrorists? JAR JAR BINKS Oh No. Disen Bombad! PALPATINE The need for a Clone Army is more urgent now. If the Republic had the proper protection earlier, this was NEVER going to happen to the young Senator. BAIL ORGANA Do you think that you are capable of action? Are you NOT like Valorum who will wait for people on the payroll of our opponents to speak until your strength will disappear. Then Uv Gizen went down and brought Senator Amidala. UV GIZEN Supreme Chancellor, your Senator appears to be alright!. PALPATINE Oh my goodness! PADME The explosion took out my bodyguard, there is NO doubt that the terrorist who planted the bomb is a rebel. Nothing can stop a civil war that will take place not long from now. Then Jar Jar is standing on the platform where Amidala just walked into. DISSOLVE TO 7A EXT BALCONY JEDI TEMPLE The Chancellor is talking with Master Jedi Mace Windu. MACE WINDU Yes, Kenobi and his pupil will be ready, I will dispatch them and follow your commands. PALPATINE Now, even if we know that the rebels of that separatist are involved, we still need to have high security for the people I take care about. 8A INT PADME NABERRIE AMIDALAS CORUSCANT APARTMENT Anakin and Senator Padme are close friends and are talking about the bombing that happened. PADME If only Nobody knew that I was close to the Chancellor. ANAKIN Don't worry, Obi Wan will arrive soon. And your apartment is safe with us. 9A INT PADMES ROOM Padme got inside her room on the Coruscant Apartment and Anakin is outside. Padme is sleeping.s 10 INT/EXT APARTMENT PADMES DOOR Obi Wan arrived. OBI WAN Im here. ANAKIN I just heard to much OBI WAN I have a bad feeling about this. 11 EXT PADMES APARTMENT WINDOW Bounty Hunter and Professional Assassin Zam Wessel is controlling her flying Assassin Droid that was bought from somewhere specifically for her jobs of assassination. 12 EXT/INT WINDOW PADME APARTMENT The droid released insect-like robots that are called KOUHOUNS The Kouhouns are rushing inside Padmes room and Padme is shouting. 13 INT DOOR Obi Wan and Anakin heard Padme and got inside quickly. Anakin ignited his Light Saber and destroyed the Kouhouns very fast. Obi Wan jumped after the assassin droid and caught its tail even if it flew outside the window. 14 INT APARTMENT BUILDING Anakin ran down, and got his personal HOT ROD VEHICLE and is blasted out of the window to chase the droid with Obi Wan . 15 EXT CORUSCANT CITY Anakin is chasing the Flying Droid and Zam Wessel disappeared. Anakin almost crashed when he turned upward to a building pole made of very hard metal, WE SEE The side of Anakins rod is sparking after it hit a flying object in the traffic of the city. Anakin fired his Light Saber again and tried to cut the droid off but Obi Wan is still hanging. 16 EXT CORUSCANT CITY Anakin has NOT yet lost the droid yet for 10 minutes, Anakin went down the Flying Droid and saw Obi Wans Light Saber about to fall , Obi Wan tightened it on the holster of his belt and fell on Anakins rod. ANAKIN Good! Now lets take out that droid. OBI WAN No, the assassin ran into that Night Club, go there! 17 INT CORUSCANT NIGHT CLUB. Anakin and Obi Wan are stopped by a bouncer. BOUNCER No Jedi! Then Anakin grabbed the holster on his belt and tried to scare the bouncer with the Light Saber. BOUNCER You think you can intimidate me with your sword? OBI WAN Obi Wan is using the Force. You will let us in. And then the bouncer let them inside the club. OBI WAN Youll be the death of me! 18 INT NIGHTCLUB. Its already a long time and Obi Wan and Anakin have not found Zam. Anakin is holding his belt and noticed his Light Saber is gone. OBI WAN Obi Wan is holding Anakins Light Saber. You slipped it off accidentally. We were in a hurry! ANAKIN What? Then Anakin put his Light Saber back. OBI WAN Next time, try NOT to lose it. ANAKIN Okay, just give it to me right away the next time. Obi Wan is still angry at Anakin and is NOT saying anything. Then vZam Wessel is located. Zam Wessel tried to run away but the assassin was only armed with her Droid and the Droid lost all the Kouhouns. When Anakin and his Master are about to ask the bounty hunter for information, a flying KYBER DART came out from nowhere and killed the woman. At one corner of the restaurant, assassin Jango Fett left because his information is safe. ANAKIN Now, what ? OBI WAN Kyber Dart, I know what to do? ANAKIN What, the girl is dead? OBI WAN If this is really a Kyber Dart. ANAKIN So?… OBI WAN Never mind....Come on, Lets go!!! 20 CORUSCANT TRAFFIC Anakin and Obi Wan are traveling to Dexters Diner. Dexter Jettser is a friend of Obi Wan. OBI WAN Were here. 21A INT DEXTERS DINER. Obi Wan and Anakin are with Dexter. Dexter is a large repitilian alien. DEXTER We can only find on Kamino. OBI WAN Where is it? DEXTER I can tell you where, but you better bring your umbrella, no suns gonna come out, I think. 22A INT ABANDONED AREA CORUSCANT Darth Sidious and his new apprentice Darth Tyranus are walking together on an abandoned area on Coruscant. Count Dooku and Darth Tyranus are really the same person. DARTH SIDIOUS I was the head of the Jedi Council. Now they are convinced to create the army that will create the war on Geonosis like we planned. COUNT DOOKU Jango Fett has NOT been employed directly, Zam failed us, and NO there was zero information that leaked. Jango took care of it. DARTH SIDIOUS I do NOT like Senator Amidala alive. It is NOT a hard job to take out a subject like her! As soon as possible, you might want to conduct the assassinations yourself. COUNT DOOKU Yes, Master. Jango will get his prototype Boba after or even before we dispatch him again. 23A INT JEDI COUNCIL. Obi Wan is reviewing a hologram of kids being trained by Yoda and has NOT found anything yet. JEDI APPRENTICE Lets go home! This is heavy! And then WE SEE The hologram get static and cut off. OBI WAN We need the librarian for this. 24A INT JEDI TEMPLE DOME. Anakin is talking to Yoda and Mace Windu. MACE WINDU If the Senator gets killed by any rebel agents, it will make our situation and even the Chancellors worse. YODA Be Mindful you will. ANAKIN Yes, Im gonna leave to Naboo right away. Then Anakin left the room. 25A INT JEDI COUNCIL Obi Wan and Mace Windu and Yoda are talking about Jango Fett and the Kyber Dart. OBI WAN We can only find those at Kamino. Ther e is something larger going on on Kamino and the rebels are invo lved. MACE WINDU You are right, maybe there are hundreds of rebels on the planets. And this assassin is there, he takes orders from somebody connected to the rebels. OBI WAN Yes. MACE WINDU Go to Kamino and discover the rebel lions connection on the assassination attempts on the Senator. May the Force be With You. 26A EXT CORUSCANT SPACE PORT Anakin and Padme are about to go on a mass transport that has scheduled flights between planets. ANAKIN Here we are . 27 INT MASS TRANSPORT There are so many aliens inside the Mass Transport from all over the galaxy. Padme and Anakin are inside. 28 EXT NABOO SPACE PORT Anakin and Padme are on a Naboo Space Port. They want to go to Theed and find Padmes house. 29 EXT THEED STREETS Anakin and Padme are walking on Theed, the sun is so bright and the wind is cold. ANAKIN Is your familys house far? PADME Were almost there. 30 EXT NABERRIES LAKE RETREAT Anakin and Padme are on the Naberries lake retreat. Anakin is introduced to Jobal and Rowee, the parens of Padme and t he sisters Ryoo and Pooja. 31 INT NABERRIE HOME Anakin is told where to stay. PADME The guest room bed is over there. ANAKIN Okay. 32 INT JEDI COUNCIL ARCHIVES Obi Wan is investigating the Jedi Temple Archives and is looking for information on Kamino. 33 INT JEDI LIBRARY Madame Jocasta Nu walked thru the Jedi Library. There is a hologram map of Kamino. They also found Count Dookus face and a hologram of Yoda teaching kids how to use a Light Saber. Qui Gon Jinn and Plo Koons face were also on the holoimage. JOCASTA Count Dookus withdrawal from the Order was painful. 34 EXT CORUSCANT CITY The windows of the buildings of Coruscant are so bright. PAN TO: Abandoned Area where Darth Sidious is waiting. 35 INT BUILDING GEONOSIS WE SEE The Dark Blue hologram of Darth Sidious talking to Count Dooku DARTH SIDIOUSv The Jedi Knight is coming. COUNT DOOKU I will see to it that the Mandalorian Trooper will do his job. DARTH SIDIOUS Sure, I know that we can trust our assassins…. 36 EXT GEONOSIS Count Dookus sail ship is traveling on Geonosis. 37 INT COUNT DOOKU SAIL SHIP The Sith Apprentice is driving his ship and will arrive and see Jango Fett. 38 EXT LANDING PLATFORM GEONOSIS Count Dooku landed on a platform and saw Jango Fett. 39 INT ABANDONED GEONOSIAN AREA Jango and Count Dooku are talking. COUNT DOOKU Be sure, you get him bounty hunter. JANGO FETT He will be dead in no time. COUNT DOOKU Good, the brat is traveling to Kamino now! 40 EXT GEONOSIS ORBIT SLAVE I, The ship of Jan go is traveling to Kamino where Obi Wan will go. 41 INT SLAVE I Inside the Sail Ship of the Mandalorian, prototype Boba is waiting inside also. 42 EXT KAMINO SKY It is raining on Kamino and the ship of Jango Fett arrived. SLAVE I is wet by the rain on the sky. 43 EXT KAMINO SKY After, Jango arrived, Obi Wan came also with his ship. 44 INT OBI WAN SPACE SHIP Obi Wan is NOT a good pilot like Anakin but at least he can fly it. 45 EXT KAMINOAN CITY ESTABLISHING SHOT of the Kamino city, The city is elevated by poles from their giant ocean. 46 EXT KAMINOAN OCEAN The sea on Kamino is very large and is more wider than land, the natives look like tall fish-like people. 47 EXT TIPOCA CITY On Tipoca, Obi Wan is greeted by Lama Su, the Kaminoan Prime Minister. 48 EXT KAMINOAN TOWN Jango is walking on a Kaminoan town with his rifle ready to kill the Jedi. 49 INT PRIME MINISTERS OFFICE . Obi Wan and Lama have a meeting. LAMA I think, you do NOT have to pretend you do NOT know that your Master, OBI WAN Master? LAMA The head of the Council, Sido Dyas, you know h im, commissioned the Kaminoans to build a Clone Army. OBI WAN I cant believe this, it was an impostor, there is no Sido Dyas in the Council. LAMA Maybe,too many Jedi get mixed up. OBI WAN Never mind, I have to see the hatcheries and laboratories now. 50 INT SLAVE I Boba Fett is waiting on SLAVE I 51 EXT TIPOCAN VILLAGE Jango arrived at a Tipocan village and is trying to spy for Obi Wan 52 INT CLONE HATCHERIES Obi Wan is walking on one of the Clone Hatcheries. 53 EXT CLONE HATCHERIES Now he is out it one of the Clone labs. 54 INT LABS Now, Obi Wan got his holocomm device and contacted Mace Windu and Yoda. 55 INT LABS. Obi Wan is talking to Mace Windu. YODA Discover, you have to, the identity of the impostor. MACE WINDU Be careful, a war is brewing. OBI WAN Yes Master! And Obi Wan turned off the holcomm 56 INT LAB HALLWAY Obi Wan saw Jango Fett with his rifle, when Jango fired, he missed and was hiding. Obi Wan found the Bounty Hunter and blocked the next hit from his gun. Obi Wan tried to cut Jangos arm off but the Mandalorian fired again but almost hit Obi Wan at the right side of the chest before Obi Wan swung his Light Saber and missed to cut off the assassins body. 57 EXT TIPOCAN STREET Obi Wan and Jango have been fighting for a long time now and Obi Wan is getting tired of missing the assassin. 58 EXT TIPOCAN LANDING PLATFORM Obi Wan and Jango reached the landing platform where Boba is waiting inside SLAVE I. 59 INT SLAVE I Boba saw Jango thru the cockpit with a man with a Light Saber. 60 EXT LANDING PLATFORM Jango managed to get inside the ship with Boba, Obi Wan fired a Tracer gun and bolts of electricity came out and hit the ship, he put the tracer gun and the computer unit on his belt. 61 INT SLAVE I Boba and Jango are piloting the ship 62 EXT LANDING PLATFORM Obi Wan saw SLAVE I take off from the platform and. 63 EXT TIPOCAN STREETS. Obi Wan is running to his ship. 64 INT OBI WAN SHIP Obi Wan is inside his ship and hit the engine. 65 EXT KAMINO LAND Obi Wans ship took off and he likes to follow Jango fast. 66 INT NABERRIES LAKE RETREAT. Anakin is tossing and turning on his guest room bed.Then he went out the balcony, 67 INT ANAKIN GUESTROOM Padme entered the room 68 EXT BALCONY AREA. Anakin is on the balcony area and saw the big lake and the waterfalls of the Naboo palace far away. Padme is on the balcony. PADME Good morning Anakin. ANAKIN Hi PADME Is anything wrong? ANAKIN Something will happen on Tatooine Then Artoo Detoo entered the balcony without making sounds. PADME What? ANAKIN Something will happen to--- PADME Shmi Skywalker. ANAKIN Yes. I feel like going back there. Ahh never mind, you dont understand. PADME You wanna go there. ANAKIN Obi Wan will NOT arrive right away. ANAKIN I have to go to the Outer Rim, you have to come with me, its even safer there,thats the last place rebels will look for a senator. PADME Im NOT sure, Annie but I know we can get a Nubian. ANAKIN Can we get it, now? Obi Wan will be pissed but, I have to do this. I am NOT a Jedi if I do NOT. 69 EXT THEED CITY Anakin and Padme are walking on Theed, the air feels cold and Anakin can see the statue of the Queen Jamillias palace. 70 INT PALACE DOOR Anakin is given a Nubian Cruiser and will leave with Artoo and Padme. 71 EXT LANDING RAMP. Anakin is entering the landing ramp of the Nubian. 72 INT NUBIAN Anakin is inside the cruiser with Padme and the droid. ANAKIN Ill punch it now!!! ANAKIN Will your relatives be okay? PADME Theyll be fine. NO bodies looking for them. 73 EXT OUTER SPACE The space ship is traveling super-fast on space even if it is NOT a hyperdrive maneuver. 74 EXT TATOOINE ORBIT Anakin is on the Tatooine orbit. 75 EXT TATOOINE OUTSKIRTS Then they arrived at the Tatooine Outskirts. 76 EXT/INT LANDING RAMP Artoo Detoo went out ahead of Anakin and Padme, the two are walking slowly down. 77 EXT MOS ESPA STREETS When they entered the Mos Espa streets, a big bantha passed by at the open desert, that animal is only allowed to stay th at far. 78 EXT WATTOS JUNKYARD Anakin and Padme are about to enter the Toydarians shop and already saw him flying at the door. 79 INT WATTO SHOP Watto and Anakin are talking while Padme and Artoo are waiting at a corner. Watto is biting an unlit cigarette. WATTO You smoke, boy? Hahahaha ANAKIN Ill help you with that. Anakin got a steel bar on his belt and Watto found out it was his Light Saber, Anakin fired his sword and lightly touched the cigarette tip of Watto, now it was smoking. ANAKIN Now, where does Cliegg live? WATTO Its gonna take long for me to explain their moisture farm. Its out in the desert, Ill tell you that. But first, Owen and Beru Whitesun are young couples, I can fall in love with that girl. ANAKIN What happened to you? WATTO No luck in gambling, methinks hhahahah…I do NOT like the Hutts WATTO Now, lets tell you whats thee going to do, huh? 80 EXT BOONTA EVE. Anakin and Padme with the droid are walking on Boonta Eve, Anakin is NOT worried of any flying pods on that race, but he might find Cliegg there. He aleady saw one racer get toasted when he was about to leave the area while the other pilots where on another lap on the desert. 81 EXT LARS MOISTURE FARM Now, there is the big pit Watto talked about, there is Beru Whitesun ANAKIN Hello, Im Anakin Skywalker, can you let me in please? This is friend Padme 82 INT LARS HOMESTEAD Anakin and Padme and Artoo entered the kitchen. 83 LARS WORKSHOP Artoo Deeto and See Threepio are talking. THREEPIO Where is your Nubian Cruiser? Master Anakin made it? ARTOO Beep(NO) THREEPIO I have a little problem with the Bocci translating system , you might wanna help me out later. QUICK DISSOLVE TO: 84 INT LARS HOMESTEAD Anakin and Owen and Cliegg are talking. CLIEGG Im a little worried, it does NOT really take long to get those vaporators. 85 EXT LARS FARM A search party was assembled while Anakin was told to rest with Padme. 86 EXT DESERT Many in the party were killed by Tusken Raiders. 87 EXT LARS FARM Cliegg arrived and colappsed, Anakin went near him. CLIEGG The party was destroyed. Then Anakin borrowed the Swoop on the Corner and took off. 88 EXT DESERT Anakin is rushing to the desert with the Swoop, when he turned he almost fell off but it happened to him many times even if he is the best with his rod. Anakin met a Jawa and asked directions. JAWA Kaphaza,Kaphaza! 89 EXT DESERT Anakin is riding with the Jawa and he already knows where the mushroom vaporator farm is, when Anakin accelerated suddenly the Jawa fell off and shouted very loud, he wanted to rescue him but its too late. 90 EXT DESERT Anakin found Shmi carried by Sand People, he rushed to the tuskens and fired his light saber, then he killed all of them. Shmi is badly wounded. Anakin got Shmi but when Shmi and Anakin talked softly Shmi died in Anakins arms. Anakin is angry at the Council and stood up. 91 INT LARS HOMESTEAD See Threepio and Artoo are on the workshop. THREEPIO Will Cliegg be fine? OWEN Yes. ARTOO Beep. THREEPIO I hope Anakin is fine. 92 EXT SPACE Halfway across the galaxy, Obi Wan is still tailing Jango thru space. 93 SPACE ASTEROID FIELD Then the two arrived on an Asteroid Field. Obi Wan is worried because he is NOT with Anakin and this is dangerous. 94 EXT SPACE Obi Wan spaceship sparked after it hit an asteroid fragment. 95 INT SLAVE I JANGO Accelerate your speed. 96 EXT SPACE Slave I keeps on twisting and always misses a rock because the Mandalorian is a good pilot and better than Obi Wan. 97 EXT SPACE Obi Wan and Jango are out of the asteroid field. 98 INT OBI WAN SHIP Obi Wan is happy that the rocky field is lost. 99 INT SLAVE I JANGO The Jedi is weak now. I promised Dooku about my assassination assignment. 100 EXT SPACE Obi Wan and Jango are on the orbit of Geonosis, that is where droids are manufactured and sold to companies like the TRADE FEDERATION. 101 INT SLAVE I JANGO Were here, Boba. 102 EXT SPACE ORBIT Obi Wan and Jango are slowing down. 103 INT OBI WAN SHIP Obi Wan saw TWO DROID CONTROL SHIPS at the orbit of the planet. He knows that Geonosis is one of the rebel systems and Neimoidians have a little job on that ship. |
